Mailtime

I have received some lovely items in the mail on the last couple of mail days.  First up on Friday I received my parcel from Leanne for Our Craft Forums Sewing Swap.  I received this lovey Thread Catcher and Fat 1/4.  You can go and look at the lovely things Leanne makes over at her blog Stitch Selection.  I was lucky to be receiving from her.

Then today in the mail I received two parcels.  The first was Lynette Anderson's book Stitch It For Christmas, which I ordered from Fishpond.

I also received my parcel that I won from Sam over at Missymack.  I received the Odds & Ends charm pack and a patterned designed by Sam herself.

Bread And Butter Pudding

Not a big pudding eater, a couple of nights ago when I wasn't working the pm shift I felt like some.  I had grand plans on making rice pudding but left it to late to make in the evening so opted for Bread and Butter Pudding instead.

Now as I am moving I have already started packing, so all my cookbooks are packed.  So I went to the trusty internet and found this yummy recipe from the Chelsea Sugar website.

So yummy, I had to share their recipe.

Ingredients

6 slices white sandwich bread, buttered
2 tablespoons currants
2 tablespoons sultanas
2 eggs
2 tablespoons Chelsea White Sugar
2 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1/2 teaspoon grated nutmeg
Chelsea Icing Sugar to dust

Method

Preheat the oven to 180ÂșC. Cut the crusts off the bread and cut each slice in half diagonally to make 2 triangles. Lay four bread triangles butter side down in a pie dish or small lasagne dish, approximately 20 x 20 cm. Sprinkle with half the currants and sultanas and repeat to form layers. Finish with a layer of bread with the butter side up. Beat the eggs and sugar together, then add the milk and vanilla. Pour over the bread and butter and sprinkle the top with grated nutmeg. Place the dish into a large roasting pan filled with water to come three-quarters of the way up the sides of the pie dish. Bake for 30 minutes until golden brown and set. Dust with icing sugar to serve.

Just A Few Things

Well first up I better show you my sack I received from Lisa at Lydia's Treasures for the Santa Sack Swap. Though I received it a couple of months ago I kept on forgetting to blog a piccie of it.  So here it is

and look  I got two months of gifts this month too.

Also over at the Craftlovers forum I participated in a Candlemat Swap and here is what Kimba sent me.
You can read about what I sent here on a previous post.
Love the Xmas theme.

I also in the last couple of weeks received my OASS gift.  I feel so lucky.  I got some lovely material, a mug rug, clip purse and a stuffed heart in lovely flowery material.  My partner was Donna from Donna's Lavender Nest so go on over and have a look at her blog.

I also have sent and received some more hexagons this month in the Craftlovers Forum swap.
This time round I had to send to Lynette and she asked for any colour with a white centre. So I sent her this purple one.

I was lucky enough to get Sandy again this month and she sent me this lovely red one.

And Monika being on to it has made all her hexis and sent this one on to me already.

Then over at QBSA Leena Sent me this lovely Pinwheel block. Love the Civil War fabric.

Finally my parcel has arrived from the Fat Quarter Shop. I wonder who is going to get something made out of it for Chooky Blue's Secret Santa Swap 2012?

We Are Moving

Hubby has a new Farm Managers job and we are moving in 3 weeks and 2 days.  Fortunately, it is from one side of Gisborne to the other. So kids stay at the same school and I get to stay at my job.  Unfortunately the view will not be the million dollar view we get now, and the kids bus does not come to the gate, but 3 km from the house.

So for the new few weeks I will be packing and cleaning, and packing and cleaning.
But what is the best thing about this move??  Well the builders are in the house from today starting a new kitchen, bathroom, painting and carpeting and it is costing us nothing as the owners are paying for it all....yay!!

For anyone I am in swaps with I will endevour to let you know my new address, however I will get the mail redirected for the next few months just incase I don't.

A Candle Mat

Now I know my swap item has reached my partner Monika it is safe to show you.  This time I was in a Candle mat swap.  I decided to make a hexagon one and it was all hand stitched together apart from the top stitch.  The fabric was what I had left over from a 30's charm pack I had.

I also heard that my partner Penny for the Sewing Swap over at Our Craft Forum has also received her item too.  I made her a Sewing Supply Case and the pattern if you would like to make one for your self can be found here.

Best Wishes
Michell
